My Role & Approach
As the UX lead for Amplitude’s Distribution pod, I was tasked with defining the roadmap for optimizing how users share and collaborate within the platform. Through generative research, we uncovered a key insight: despite existing collaboration features (e.g., Notebooks, comments, and mentions), most sharing happened outside of Amplitude.
Users relied on screenshots and chart links pasted into Slack, Notion, and other tools—not because Amplitude lacked functionality, but because external platforms were faster, better integrated into their workflows, and provided necessary documentation templates. Our 2022 strategy became clear: meet users where they already work by embedding Amplitude into their ecosystem.
As the UX lead on this project, I:
Advocated for an ecosystem-first approach, ensuring our solutions created a cohesive data experience and aligned with real user workflows
Drove execution by partnering with product, engineering, and external stakeholders to bring integrations to market and plan phasing out of our old experiences
Outcome
In 2022, we launched integrations with Miro, Notion, Slack, and Atlassian, bridging Amplitude’s insights with users' daily workflows. These efforts drove:
101% growth in weekly sharing users (from 3K → 6.2K)
63% increase in weekly collaborative users (5.8K → 9.5K), our team’s key success metric
~2,200 daily active users engaging with these integrations
